The Great Ball is one of the most basic and essential trainer tool used to capture Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Great Ball, being an upgrade from the more standard Poké all, has a higher catch-rate compared to the Poké Ball. The Great Ball has a lower catch rate compared to the Ultra Ball. This type of ball can commonly be obtained through various sources in-game once the trainer unlocks it.
Usage[]
Great Balls are used to capture wild Pokémon. When encountering a catchable Pokémon, this ball, along with the other types of balls, can be thrown. The Great Ball will rotate four times before a successful capture, where the Pokémon will break out before four successful movements if unsuccessful.
