The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

  • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
  • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
  • Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete|reason for deletion request}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
  • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
  • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
  • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Lack of Semantic MediaWiki

I'm interested in helping this wiki, but need an extension enabled first. It's called Semantic MediaWiki. If you enable this extension, I can show you ways to automatically transclude data from one page, onto another page, using properties and templates. It could potentially save you hours of editing time, as you would no longer need to edit multiple pages containing the same information, just the original it came from. Look into it Admins! I hope to hear back from you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aethaeran (talkcontribs) at 03:20, 3 August 2016‎ (UTC).

Hi, sounds useful for this wiki. Do you have any specific plans in mind? Thanks for helping out!--Cadaeib (talk) 09:13, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Here's the initial plan of attack:
  • Add Syntax and properties to Pokemon infobox template for the moves they have.
  • Add properties to the already existing syntax on your Moves infobox template.
  • In the Pokemon template, Use the {{#ask}} ParserFunction to parse the Moves category for the properties of moves listed within the pokemons own template, and have collapsible, sortable tables generated on that page.
  • In the moves template, Use the {{#ask}} ParserFunction to parse the Pokemon Category for Pokemon that have that move, and have tables generated on that page.
I could provide some examples from the Wikia I used to work on if you'd like, but at the moment I need to get ready for work. Aethaeran (talk) 14:53, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Is this the extension you are talking about: https://www.semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Semantic_MediaWiki Haykam821 (talk) 17:07, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Yes, that's the extension.--Cadaeib (talk) 21:54, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Sounds good! Do you have a list of the possible moves or do you know of a list we can use?--Cadaeib (talk) 21:54, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
I was reading this Reddit and a few posts down Reddit user "jobhand" posted a rather thorough spreadsheet about it. It has even been updated for the recent 7.29 balancing. I believe a lot of his information is based off of data-mined information. We can debate on using his personal calculations later, but he has the basic information we need.
I now notice that Semantic MediaWiki has been enabled.
Some examples from the Wikia I used to work on.
  • In this link you can see an ask function in use. This one is quite large and isn't collapsible (ie. User has option to show it), but that is an option.
  • Then in this link. You can see the source code for the parser function itself.
Excited to get started on it soon. Just not tonight. Responsibilities and all that nonsense.
Thanks a million guys!

Things are going pretty smoothly so far guys! Here's an example. I will be needing admin access so I can use AutoWikiBrowser to mass add the syntax needed on Pokemon pages. Who do I talk to about that around here? I promise not to hurt anything! hahaha
